Opinion The right-wing bloc wanted very much to win, but was less enthusiastic about taking responsibility Israel today

2022-11-30T18:04:47.137Z

If the delays in the formation of the government were not enough, talk has now begun about rotations in the positions of the ministers • It is difficult to think of an idea more absurd than this • And to think that this whole bloc is running on the ticket of "governments" • My longing for "we came to work"

Who would have believed that a month has already passed since the election day.

Even worse: who would have believed that with a clear victory for the National Camp bloc, with 64 seats, a government was not closed within a week.

The emerging feeling is that this bloc wanted badly to win, but was less eager to rule.

to take responsibility.

to manage.

Many of the bloc's voters are already finding it difficult to mask the feeling of bitterness.

Why does it have to look like this?

Need a horizon of vicarious responsibility.

The repulsive briefing factory against some of the players is already stirring up gossip.

In a second we will go to the intersections with "right-wing and right-wingers refuse to be enemies" signs.

It reflects immaturity;

It hinted meters of pitfalls in management.

The impression has already been made: even if red ribbons are handed out next week in festive ceremonies, it is clear that the right-wing coalition started off on the wrong foot.

It is not fair to the voters.

And if the delays and the bad blood and all that was unnecessary were not enough, talks have now begun about rotations in the positions of the ministers.

It's hard to think of a more absurd idea than that.

And to think that this whole bloc is running on the ticket of "Moshilot".

We are dealing with 64 mandates that sit on a solid electoral and ideological basis - the raw materials from which governmental stability is baked - that insist on disintegrating the clear mandate for governance.

Instead of eradicating the diseases that have plagued the head of the governmental system for the past two years - the defects are being extended to the level of the ministries.

To control, start processes, manage them, exhaust them and bring them to the final good signature - it takes time.

Need a horizon of vicarious responsibility.

We have seen what the functioning of a prime minister with an expiration date above his head looks like.

Not even a hundred articles in the New York Times will change that.

Now imagine what a minister's term would look like under these conditions.

This is a fatal injury to the administrative autonomy of the ministers and their governmental authority.

It is to neutralize in advance any pretense to long-term thinking, it will suppress the spirit of initiative.

Add to that the wings that are expropriated from office A and transferred as compensation to office B - and the result is ministers with clipped wings.

64 mandates with a promise of stability - establishing a patchwork government with rough stitches.

This is not how governments are built.

The sad thing is that for many the thought is beginning to creep in that this is not about the constraints of negotiations and "no choice", but about a desirable and sought after product. They prefer weakened ministers, a weakened administration, a submissive government. Ministers who will not lead, who will not stand out, who will not flourish too much. In other words - that they will not succeed Another reason for bitterness. For all this, by the way, the left cannot be blamed. There, at least, they attacked the offices with passion. My longing for "we came to work".

were we wrong

We will fix it!
