After a five-year break, the municipality of Poing will once again receive neighborhood help.

Under the direction of the neighborhood aid in Vaterstetten.

Start is planned for 2023.

Poing – With the death of Janina Zuschrott in October 2015, the neighborhood help she had been running on a voluntary basis since 2004 slowly came to an end.

For another two years, the Poing Volunteer Agency, which also works on a voluntary basis, took over the procurement of services such as going shopping or trips to the doctor, but in 2017 it also closed its doors - for organizational reasons and due to a lack of volunteers.

Poing: Association from Vaterstetten takes over management

Neighborhood help is to be re-established in the municipality of Poing next year - under the leadership of the Association for Neighborhood Help, Social Services, Nursing Services in the communities of Vaterstetten, Zorneding and Grasbrunn.

This was announced by Poing's Mayor Thomas Stark at the Advent celebration of the VdK local association in the parish hall of St. Michael.

Just as for the communities of Vaterstetten, Zorneding and Grasbrunn, the association also wants to set up its own neighborhood help with appropriate services for Poing.

A first information/kick-off event is planned for February 2023.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

An announcement that Maria Boge-Diecker was happy to note.

"In Poing there is a great need for support in the domestic area," says the deputy VdK local chairwoman.

Especially in seniors.

In this context, she referred to the "unfortunate dissolution of the AWO local association" at the end of the year, which meant that offers for seniors were no longer available.

Although the municipality of Poing is doing a very good job with its senior citizens' team and office with two full-time employees, it is nevertheless to be welcomed that an additional neighborhood help is being set up.

Of the almost 500 Poinger VdK members, around 100 came to the Advent celebration in the parish home on Schulstraße - after a long Corona period, there was finally another opportunity to meet.

In addition to Mayor Stark, the VdK district chairwoman and SPD member of the state parliament Doris Rauscher was also a guest.

Together with the deputy local chairwoman Maria Boge-Diecker, she honored long-standing members.

These include former mayor Rainer Lauterbach and Marianne Müller, who have each been a member of VdK Poing for 30 years.
