Contrary to the national trend, unemployment is increasing in the district.

District – Contrary to the national trend, unemployment in the district of Miesbach has recently increased.

As of the reporting date in mid-November, the Rosenheim Employment Agency recorded an increase of 55 unemployed, increasing the rate by 0.1 points to 2.4 percent.

In the previous year it was still 2.1 percent.

Of the 1,365 women and men affected, 752 are looked after by the employment agency in Holzkirchen, and 613 recipients of unemployment benefit II are the responsibility of the district as an approved municipal agency.

Very high increase in unemployment among foreigners

In the entire area of responsibility of the agency, in addition to the city and district of Rosenheim, these also include the districts of Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, the rate remains unchanged at 2.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed fell slightly by 30 to 7,700.

In November 2021 it was 749 lower.

The increase compared to the previous year can be explained mainly by Ukrainians who are entitled to work here and are therefore included in the statistics.

The number of unemployed foreigners is almost 1,100 higher than a year ago, in the Miesbach district there are 488. That is more than the total increase over the past twelve months, which is only 415.

However, there is a downward trend in foreign unemployment.

Development in the neighboring districts more positive

The upward trend in the district of Miesbach, which is contrary to the trend, is probably due to the fact that many people work in the hotel/tourism industry and other weather-dependent professions.

People are exhibited here in November every year.

Unlike in the neighboring regions, new employment contracts in other areas have not been able to compensate for this.

In Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, for example, the rate fell by 0.1 points to 1.9, in the city of Rosenheim by the same value to 4.0.

The number of vacancies remains high compared to the previous year.

The employment agency was aware of 5,670 as of the reporting date, with the offer moving primarily in the “skilled worker” and “specialist/expert” requirement levels, as stated in the agency’s monthly labor market report.

There are 937 vacancies in the Miesbach district.
