Saudi Arabia confirmed that it is considering submitting a joint bid together with Egypt and Greece to host the 2030 World Cup. In an interview conducted by the Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al Khatib, the minister stated that his country is interested in replicating what Qatar did and bringing the tournament back to the Middle East.
"We are considering submitting the proposal together with Egypt and Greece and hope that it will be a proposal that will also win," Al Khatib said.
"The three countries together will invest a lot in the planning and establishment of such a tournament and we will certainly be ready for it. By the time the tournament begins, Saudi Arabia will be able to put up magnificent stadiums and buildings that will serve the World Cup."
After the achievements of the world's largest oil exporter with hosting the Asian Winter Games in 2029 and an annual Formula 1 race, the Saudis are not stopping.
The Saudi prince, Mohammed bin Salman, appeared at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar alongside Gianni Infantino, and was seen talking to him.
