An American Airlines flight from Frankfurt Airport to the USA is suddenly diverted.
The plane has to land in Glasgow due to an emergency.
Frankfurt – Hundreds of planes take off from Frankfurt Airport every day for destinations all over the world.
Most trips go smoothly.
That was also the plan for the American Airlines flight from Frankfurt to Dallas in the US state of Texas.
However, not everything went so smoothly.
Flight N826AN took off from Frankfurt Airport on Sunday morning (November 27, 2022) as scheduled and was finally due to land at Fort Worth Airoprt.
But that didn't happen for the time being, as reported by fnp.de.
After almost two and a half hours, the machine had to make an emergency landing in Glasgow, Scotland.
But what was the reason for this landing?

While still in the air, passengers would have seen the plane losing fuel.
However, that was intentional.

Although it looked dramatic, reducing fuel weight was critical to safe arrival and avoiding a hard landing, he said.

After landing, the crew stopped the aircraft on the runway and requested emergency services to do a thermal scan near doors 2L and 2R.
The reason is an electrically burnt smell, according to the website

After the shock, however, the passengers continued their journey the next day.
The flight left Glasgow at around 5 p.m. on Monday (November 28) and arrived safely in Dallas after a slight delay.

A flight from the USA to Frankfurt also had to turn around.
