Is real winter weather finally coming to Bavaria?
The current weather forecast gives hope for white landscapes - and that for this week.
Munich – Mixed weather is currently running through Bavaria.
However, that could change soon: "The weather situation is slowly but surely tilting more and more in the direction of winter weather," explains meteorologist Dominik Jung in his latest weather report from

This is also confirmed by the current weather forecast for Bavaria.
The Siberian cold is getting closer, every day it's getting a little bit colder.
For the second Advent, Jung then expects “white landscapes”.
Locations from 300 to 400 meters are particularly affected.

Jung predicts highs of between zero and five degrees in the next few days.
"The nighttime readings are mostly around or below 0 degrees." From the weekend onwards, more slippery roads can be expected at night.
"Please drive carefully and be slow." Where exactly the white snowflakes will fall in Bavaria is not yet entirely certain.
On the weather map of the US weather model NOAA, snow falls on the 2nd Advent primarily in Swabia and Upper Bavaria as well as in Upper Franconia.
In Munich, too, a lot is likely to come down.
A thin layer of snow remained in many places as early as mid-November.

The forecasts give hope for snow for the 2nd Advent.

However, the forecast is still quite uncertain.
It depends on where sleet, rain or snow ultimately comes down.
"In any case, you should be prepared for white surprises in the next few days," explains weather expert Jung.

Bavaria: Snow line drops to 600 meters
The German Weather Service (DWD) also considers snow to be conceivable.
In the next few days, the snow line will drop to 600 meters.
In the Alps and east of the Inn, the DWD expects 5 centimeters of fresh snow on Tuesday evening.
The DWD also warns of ice: "In the night of Wednesday in the Bavarian Forest above 800 to 1000 meters in places ice due to freezing wet or little fresh snow / slush.
In eastern Lower and Upper Bavaria, even at low altitudes, ice due to freezing over water cannot be ruled out.”
Fog could also cause problems for motorists in the next few days.
At night, there is local fog, especially in the eastern regions of Bavaria, with visibility of less than 150 meters.
