District of Fürstenfeldbruck - In September, most employees were paid an energy allowance of 300 euros via their payroll.

Not only gas, groceries and petrol have become expensive, electricity bills have also peaked.

The so-called watering can principle, in which everyone received the amount, even if they might not need it, struck many district citizens.

They therefore transferred the money to the community foundation for the district of Fürstenfeldbruck without being asked, saying they would give the money to people who really needed it.

The foundation then came up with a campaign to collect even more money and ultimately distribute it to all those who may not be able to afford the future electricity bills.

We want to prevent a power cut.

The increased heating costs would be taken over by the authorities.

"Electricity subsidy for people in need" is the name of the fundraising campaign of the community foundation, which has now been presented by managing director Katrin Rizzi and board member Grit Ullmann.

Collection campaign from December 1st to January 31st

From December 1st to January 31st, donations will be collected, which can be in the form of an energy subsidy, for example.

From the end of February, the payment will then be made to needy people from the district.

Around 5,600 people or communities of need from the district could then apply for the subsidy.

However, the application cannot be filled out per person, but per benefit community.

According to Rizzi and Ullmann, a form can be found on the community foundation's website.

"We wanted to keep it fairly unbureaucratic," say Rizzi and Ullmann.

However, specimens should also be laid out, for example in the panels.

"We have received assurances from the job center and social welfare office that the donation will not be offset against social benefits"

There are three requirements for funding: You must live in the district, you must submit a notification of benefits from the job center/social welfare office, and you must provide proof of increased electricity deductions.

"We have received assurances from the job center and social welfare office that the donation will not be offset against social benefits," explains Rizzi.

At the end of the promotion period, the final amount will then be divided evenly among all verified applicants.

How to donate

If you would like to donate your energy cost allowance, you can pay this into the donation account of the community foundation or donate digitally via the website and will receive a donation receipt for amounts over 300 euros, otherwise the transfer slip will suffice.
