Erding – Anneliese Worschech from Erding, with 1318 kilometers cycled, and the 42-strong team from the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium (8259 kilometers by bike) won the individual and team rankings of this year’s “Stadtradeln”.

At a small celebration in the Erding Museum, Mayor Max Gotz presented them with the prizes: Anneliese Worschech was delighted with a 100 euro voucher from the vit:bikes bike shop and the representatives of the grammar school received cinema vouchers from the Cineplex Erding.

"Stadtradeln" is an initiative of the Climate Alliance.

With almost 2000 members from more than 25 European countries, Climate Alliance is the world's largest network of cities dedicated to climate protection.

The city of Erding is also a member.

The aim of the competition is to cover as many everyday routes as possible by bike in a climate-friendly manner over a period of 21 days.

From June 25 to July 15, 219 cyclists and 23 teams took part in Erding, covering 37,788 kilometers.

This corresponds to a CO2 saving of around six tons.

Mayor Max Gotz emphasized how useful cycling is in the city: "It protects the environment, it protects the climate and is also good for personal fitness." Campaigns such as "city cycling" are therefore ideally suited to bringing the environmental issue into focus to move.
