He coordinated 550 newspaper deliverers in three districts: Heinz Brennauer is now retiring as managing director of the Merkur subsidiary ZVE.

His successor is Stefan Obesser.

Erding – 550 newspaper deliverers from the districts of Erding, Ebersberg and Freising, who deliver around 45,000 newspapers to readers every day, are getting a new boss: After 25 years at Zeitungsvertriebs GmbH Erding (ZVE), a company belonging to the Münchner Merkur/tz media group, Heinz Brennauer is retiring today, Wednesday.

The 62-year-old has been Managing Director of ZVE since 2017, succeeding Manfred Rödel.

His successor is Stefan Obesser.

Brennauer trained as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant and initially worked at Richter + Frenzel in Munich.

It was his uncle Georg Brennauer, longtime advertising manager at the Erdinger/Dorfener Anzeiger and ice hockey reporter for our newspaper to this day, who got him into sales.

At first, Brennauer worked in the field.

He usually gets up at 6 a.m., "but sometimes I had to go out at night when too many porters were out," he recalls.

It will be an uneasy retirement for him, because the next job is already waiting for him: "I will support my wife in her beauty salon in Tüßling," he reports.

He lives there too.

His successor, Stefan Obesser, has been with the ZVE since May, the man from Dachau came from the advertising newspaper Forum in Freising.

"Daniel Schöningh, Managing Director of Münchner Merkur, approached me that he had a job in Erding," reports the 53-year-old.

To date, he has worked as a sales representative at the newspaper distributor in Fürstenfeldbruck, where he was responsible for Starnberg.

He will not be alone in the ZVE office in the Bräuhaus district in downtown Erding.

At the beginning of the month, the new assistant Birgit Paintner took up her duties.

The local newspaper is constantly looking for new deliverers.

"It's an attractive extra income," assures Brennauer.

“You get 520 euros a month for about an hour and a half of work a day.

That adds up to over 6,000 euros a year.”

During the pandemic, many who were looking for a job at the ZVE because of short-time work or unemployment reported.

"It went right through all layers," recalls the outgoing managing director.

"Even now we're getting some applications because people are looking for an additional job because of rising costs."

Anyone interested in working as a delivery person can find out more by calling Tel. (089) 53 06-313 (Mr. Glaser).
