The court ordered that his identity and that of the victims not be made public.
New Zealand police launched a homicide investigation in August after the remains were discovered in suitcases bought by a family at an online auction in south Auckland.
Police previously said the boys were likely between 5 and 10 years old and may have been dead for about three to four years.
According to the South Korean police, the woman was born in that Asian country and is a citizen of New Zealand.
She was arrested in South Korea in September before being extradited to New Zealand on Tuesday, according to authorities.
