Today, settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, bulldozed the southeastern side of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, in the West Bank.
The director of the sanctuary, Ghassan al-Rajabi, told WAFA that the occupation forces and groups of settlers carried out excavation and bulldozing work near the wide stairs of the sanctuary in the southeastern side of the sanctuary squares, coinciding with preventing Palestinians from entering and reaching that area, with the aim of changing its historical and cultural features to facilitate the seizure. him completely and Judaize him.
Al-Rajabi pointed out that the occupation's attacks are considered a heinous crime against the historical and cultural heritage, disregarding all international covenants and resolutions that call for its preservation and protection.
In August of last year, the occupation authorities announced a Judaization scheme on an area of 300 square meters from the Ibrahimi Mosque and its facilities, including the establishment of an electric elevator to facilitate settler incursions. In early January, settlers and occupation forces carried out excavation and bulldozing works in the southeastern side. From the campus squares, with the aim of expanding settlements and implementing a Judaization scheme to establish an elevator for settlers.
It is noteworthy that Hebron was registered on the World Heritage List in 2017, and on the World Heritage List under Danger in the same year due to the dangers to which the Old City and the Ibrahimi Mosque are exposed, as a result of the Judaizing occupation practices and the repeated violations aimed at obliterating its Arab identity.
