Donald Trump receives the self-confessed anti-Semite Nick Fuentes and reaped indignation from his own ranks.
Mar-a-Lago (USA) – A dinner with consequences: Donald Trump received the self-confessed ultra-nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida.
Fuentes came with Kanye West, a former friend of Donald Trump and, like Fuentes, a staunch anti-Semite.
But as soon as the food was digested, criticism of Trump's guest list rained down.
Above all, Mike Pence was horrified.
The former US Vice President broke with his ex-boss Donald Trump long ago.
Now Pence distanced himself even further.
It was wrong for the former president to offer a seat at the table to a white nationalist, an anti-Semite and a Holocaust denier.
I think he should apologize for that," Pence told
Fuentes called Pence a "person of hateful rhetoric."
He asked Trump to distance himself clearly.

At the same time, Mike Pence defended his four-year stint alongside Donald Trump.
"I don't think he's a racist or a fanatic.
I wouldn't have been his vice president if he had been," Pence said in the interview.
The former vice president also pointed out that Donald's daughter Ivanka Trump converted to Judaism and that their children, Trump's grandchildren, are also Jewish.
In addition to Mike Pence, there are other former companions of Donald Trump who criticize his meeting with Nick Fuentes.
Surprisingly, the group of critics also includes Steve Bannon.
Bannon is a far-right podcast commentator and supporter of the racist theory of the grand exchange.
He is considered at least as a former advisor, others even as the inventor of the political figure of Donald Trump.
In his podcast War Room, Bannon made serious accusations against the current advisory board, of which he is no longer a member.
They should have warned Trump about Fuentes and ultimately prevented the meeting.

Even Republican Senator Marco Rubio called Nick Fuentes "an evil, disgusting person" and urged Trump to distance himself.
The senator from Florida defended the former president from New York.
"I know Donald Trump is not an anti-Semite," Rubio said.

But not all Republican representatives reacted with such shock to the meeting between Donald Trump and Nick Fuentes.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene did not condemn Fuentes, Kanye West, or even Trump.
Instead, Greene promised her followers that Trump would release the convicted rioters of January 6 - an aspect that Kanye West had called for days earlier in his alleged campaign video.
According to the US news portal
, this is a clear reference to West's claim.

Donald Trump also commented on the meeting, but not in the way Mike Pence and large parts of the Republicans had demanded.
On the other hand, the ex-president defended his dinner with two anti-Semites on his own social media platform Truth Social.
He wanted to help Kanye West, a "seriously concerned man who happens to be black".
He also liked what the rapper said about him in an interview on Fox News with host Tucker Carlson.
According to Trump, West showed up for the meeting with two people, the first of whom he didn't even know (Nick Fuentes) and the second of whom he hadn't seen in years.

Only Donald Trump knows if that's true.
In any case, 24-year-old Nick Fuentes has been politically active since 2016.
In 2017 he took part in the neo-Nazi demonstration in Charlottesville.
On January 6, 2021, Fuentes participated in the Washington DC riot.
