Summary.
On November 11, the city of Kherson, in southern Ukraine, was liberated after 8 months of Russian occupation.
This is an important step in the Ukrainian conflict, as Kherson was so far the only major Ukrainian city taken by Russia.
But peace is far from certain: Russian strikes targeting electrical installations are increasing in the country, plunging villages and neighborhoods into darkness.
Ukrainians in the liberated territories are struggling to recover from the trauma of several months of occupation, and sometimes from the disappearance or death of their relatives.
Christel Brigaudeau, reporter for the Récits du Parisien unit, tells Code Source about the 12 days she spent in Ukraine, between kyiv, Kherson, and Izioum.
