The accused was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of two police officers at the end of January near Kusel (Rhineland-Palatinate).

The district court of Kaiserslautern also determined on Wednesday that the guilt was particularly serious.

Kaiserslautern – Ten months ago, a young policewoman and her colleague near Kusel were shot dead on a night patrol.

They wanted to check a suspicious van that was parked on a remote district road in the West Palatinate when they fell victim to a crime.

A 39-year-old man is said to be responsible for the murder by police forces.
