Before the decisive match (21:00) in Poland, they revealed with a smile a picture of Czeslaw Michniewicz desperate to watch the Elbe Celeste in the 2006 World Cup. Tonight he will see them at eye level

Tiktukno: summary of the day's events in sports, 30.11 (Sport1)

Czeslaw Michniewicz said in recent days that he is a "fan" of the Argentina national team.

When it comes to the coach of the Polish team who will meet Lionel Messi and Co. tonight (Thursday, 21:00), it is not a lie or a press conference cliché.

Michniewicz really likes the South American team.

Michniewicz fell in love with the Argentina team in the 1998 World Cup. He was then a mediocre goalkeeper in the twilight of his career and one of his friends, the son of a former soccer referee, arranged tickets for both of them to the round of 16 match between Albiceleste and England in Saint-Etienne.

When the World Cup returned to Europe eight years later after exile in Japan and South Korea, Michniewicz knew it would come.

He had already started a coaching career then and his ambition was to watch and learn as much as possible.

And also to see the Argentina national team again, including the prodigy Lionel Messi.

Although Michniewicz was at the beginning of his career at the time, he finished a three-year term in Lech Poznan - one of Poland's luxury clubs - which he led to win the cup and the Super Cup in 2004.

In his homeland he was a very well-known coach, but unfortunately, he was only 36 years old and not "connected" enough.

The Football Association of Poland helped coaches and football people with tickets at the 2006 World Cup, but when demand was high, there was rank and there was Zarg.

Everyone wanted to go to the match between the Netherlands and Argentina in Group C, and so veteran coaches got tickets and Michniewicz was left empty-handed.

Journalist Piotr Volosik recalls today: "I don't cry much, but at the 2006 World Cup it happened to me - and not only to me, but also to Krysiak Stanowski (another journalist) who was with me. Luckily, these were tears that flowed from laughter, because we saw Czeslaw Michniewicz Standing in front of the stadium in Frankfurt with a paper sign that said in English 'Need a ticket'. It was so funny."

At a certain point, a soccer fan arrived and began to negotiate with Michniewicz in broken English. The talks stopped when the coach realized that that fan did not understand the sign and just like him - he too was looking for a ticket. The

prices then skyrocketed and reached hundreds of euros. ("Rich tourists, mainly from Asia , broke the market," Volosik wrote) and after desperate attempts, Michniewicz stayed outside and watched the game on the field. The game, by the way, ended 0:0. Tonight he will watch Argentina at eye level.
