A woman suffering from dementia caused an accident with high property damage in Baierbrunn.

Baierbrunn

– As reported by the police, her husband from Munich reported to the police on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

The 69-year-old had returned from a doctor's appointment and could not find his 69-year-old wife at home.

When he noticed at the same time that his black Peugeot car was not in the usual parking space and that the car key, which he had hidden as a precaution, was missing, it gave him a real fright.

Because his wife had been missing before, he was able to find her location using an app on his smartphone.

He had to realize that she was driving in the south-eastern district of Munich.

Garden fence and garage door broken

According to the police, a witness from Baierbrunn reported shortly afterwards.

In Forstenrieder Weg, the 69-year-old had turned into a driveway with the Peugeot, had broken through a wooden garden fence and driven through a wooden garage door.

The uncontrolled drive only ended at the concrete rear wall of the garage, reports the police.

Due to the force of the impact, part of the garage door flew onto the neighboring property and damaged a wooden window there.

The driver was not injured, material damage of 20,000 euros

Some machines parked in the garage were also damaged.

Paramedics took the 69-year-old to a clinic, where doctors determined she was unharmed.

The property damage is estimated by the police to be at least 5,000 euros.

The demolished Peugeot had to be towed away with a total loss of around 15,000 euros.
