Has the World Cup euphoria finally struck?

If you are planning a football party now, you should pay attention to a few things.

The Bavarian consumer advice center explains exactly what.

Munich – Actually nobody wants to watch them: the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Nevertheless, according to ARD figures, around 17 million people watched the Germany-Spain game on Sunday.

In comparison, the game against Japan only managed 9.23 million viewers.

So the interest is there.

Now only the frame has to fit.

The Bavarian consumer advice center provides useful tips for this.

WM-Party at home: Verbraucherzentrale Bayern gives tips for a good success

The next decisive group game for the German national team will take place on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Most of them have already finished work by this time.

However, if you want to follow a World Cup game during working hours, you should consider the following.

Basically, you have "no right to exemption" writes the Bavarian consumer advice center.

Football can only be watched during working hours if the employer expressly authorizes it.

If this is not allowed and you do it anyway, in the worst case a warning is threatened.

Good-natured bosses often turn a blind eye – if not, the only thing that helps is taking a vacation.

On Thursday, however, most fans should already have finished work.

Then a small World Cup party in your own home is a good idea.

But not everything is allowed here either.

Above all, loud shouting and cheering can quickly drive non-soccer-loving neighbors up the wall.

You are on the safe side if you announce your party a few days in advance.

Watching football with friends is fun.

Even more so if you follow certain rules.

Otherwise, after 10:00 p.m. there is a night’s rest according to the Noise Pollution Act.

From then on, only room volume is allowed.

Tolerant neighbors usually don't mind a few emotions in the heat of the moment.

After the final whistle or in the shared hallway, however, the volume should be turned down a bit.

Because otherwise you could get a visit from the police at your World Cup party.

World Cup party and barbecue simply belong together

Even if it's rather cold and uncomfortable outside the door at the moment, for some people, barbecuing and watching football are inseparably linked.

Basically no problem in the garden of your own home.

According to the Bavarian Consumer Advice Center, property owners can safely hold a barbecue party here until 10 p.m.

It could look different on the balcony of the rented apartment.

Neighbors should not feel bothered here.

It is therefore better to check beforehand how the agreements in the house on the subject of barbecuing are regulated.

The same applies to smoking, by the way.

There should be nothing wrong with a cigarette in the apartment or on the balcony.

But in the shared stairwell you should be careful.

Should Germany make it out of the group stage on Thursday and you want to share your joy with the world, a motorcade is often the method of choice.

But here, too, there are a few things to consider.

“Excessive honking or risky overtaking manoeuvres” can quickly lead to a fine.

Even if the police usually turn a blind eye, certain basic rules, such as not driving drunk, must still be followed.

And the Bavarian consumer advice center has one last tip for football fans.

If music is played at the World Cup party, care must be taken to ensure that the event remains a private party.

Otherwise, at a public celebration, you can quickly incur high costs.

The reason is the Gema (Society for Musical Performance and Mechanical Reproduction Rights).

If you play paid music at a public event, you need a license.

This is not mandatory in private.
