Tuesday evening, November 29, a man armed with a saber threatened a peacekeeper who was not wearing his uniform at the time, in Versailles (Yvelines).
According to information from Europe1, the plainclothes policeman would have made a remark to a woman driving a car, to inform her that her vehicle was badly parked.
The companion of the latter, nearby, then joined the scene and got angry with the passerby.
However, according to the Versailles prosecutor's office quoted by the radio, "
the attack would not be related to his quality as a police officer
".
The assailant allegedly brandished a sword, causing the police officer to step back and knock him to the ground.
The defendant would then have struck with the flat of the blade of the saber in the back of the victim.
Uninjured, the policeman then revealed his profession by getting up.
The couple then fled and have not yet been found.
The assaulted officer filed a complaint.
