The city of Bad Tölz appoints an architect's office for the sensitive Kurhaus extension.

The well-known office Beer Bembé Dellinger from Greifenberg won the race.

Bad Tölz

– You have planned the new Kaufbeuren rural police, you are building a new crematorium for the state capital of Munich.

In neighboring Holzkirchen, they erected two townhouses in timber construction in addition to Wilhelminian style buildings.

They are also successful in the historical context and have received the monument protection prize of the district of Swabia for the tithe barn in Steinheim.

We are talking about the architectural firm Beer Bembé Dellinger from Greifenberg (Landsberg district).

The city of Bad Tölz is now entrusting him with the planning of the Kurhaus extension for an extremely sensitive project.

Mayor Ingo Mehner announced this in a press conference on Wednesday.

Architectural office for Kurhaus extension is fixed

The office prevailed against 20 competitors.

Including some from abroad.

From which countries?

Mehner did not even want to give the names of the countries "for reasons of public procurement law".

Five applicants were shortlisted.

The jury for the building was made up of the three mayors (Mehner, Michael Lindmair, Christof Botzenhart) as well as representatives of the administration and - importantly - the monument protection.

The design of the open spaces will also be awarded soon, for which city councilors from the SPD and the Greens (Willi Streicher, Doris Bigos) are on the jury.

“We need a price tag first”

The Greifenberger office is now planning the extension on the slope next to the Kurhaus, which will accommodate numerous functional rooms in the future.

Mehner spoke of a building with a green roof, which should have a glass facade facing the parking lot.

Inside: lots of wood.

The building should blend into the environment.

Mehner did not recognize any proximity to the plan study from September 2021.

You can't provide a picture at the moment anyway.

It is a development process "based on our specifications".

He spoke of a careful selection of materials.

This has been dealt with intensively.

Results should be delivered by next year

What convinced the Tölzer about the Greifenberg office?

"We all had the impression that they managed the project best," said Mehner.

Chamberlain Hermann Forster also referred to the recommendation of the preservationists.

Such a significant project is also a process of rapprochement.

You need trust for that.

The best basis for this was found in the selected office.

The Beer Bembé Dellinger office should deliver a result by next year.

According to the mayor, it has not yet been decided whether the plans will actually be implemented.

"First of all, we need a price tag." This was also emphasized by Hermann Forster, who pointed out the currently very high construction costs.

But that could change again quickly.

"We are in a period of uncertainty."
