The Hong Kong epidemic has rebounded again. The Center for Health Protection announced on Thursday (1st) that there were 10,137 new confirmed cases, including 9,531 local infection cases and 7,601 positive cases of rapid tests. The patient passed away.

-An increase of 10,137 confirmed cases, an increase of 15.2% from the previous day.
- There were 606 imported cases, accounting for 5.98% of the overall case rate; compared with 15,422 airport arrivals on the same day, the rate was 3.93%, and the seven-day average rate was 3.89%.
- 15 new patients died, the 7-day average mortality rate remained at 0.191%, the overall mortality rate remained at 0.51%, and the cumulative death toll was 10,762.
- Local cases with new variant virus strains increased by 10, including XBB increased by 3 and accumulated 97 cases, XBD increased by 1 and accumulated 18 cases, BF.7 increased by 1 and accumulated 4 cases, BQ.1.1 increased by 5 and accumulated 113 cases .
The latest effective reproduction rate of local cases at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong is 1.125, which means that one patient can infect more than one person, and there are signs of a low recovery.
