Big things are happening in Erding-West.

All this is new in the XXL commercial area:

Erding - Until 2008, the area west of Sigwolfstraße was literally a green meadow.

By 2014, the RH Group from Munich had built a town on the outskirts of the city in the Erding-West commercial area, the West Erding Park - with a hardware store and electronics store, several bars, a hotel, a fitness studio with a row of shops and a gas station.

Other investors have built additional areas.

Now Erding West is growing completely.

This is what the RH group of companies stands for, a family business with 250 employees.

The last square between Kletthamer Feld, Josef-Schwankl-Straße and Valentin-Kirmeyer-Straße, which is at least 60,000 square meters in size, has been built on in recent months.

Thoralf Becker and Uwe Kohler presented the new settlements during a press tour.

The first shops have been open for a few days - a tanning salon (140 sqm), the tool manufacturer Würth for commercial customers (500 sqm) and the pet shop Fressnapf (700 sqm/the branch in Altenerding remains).

On the corner of Josef-Schwankl-/Valentine-Kirmeyer-Straße, the Ihle bakery is realizing a gastronomic concept – on around 500 square meters.

"It's going to be a real restaurant," explains Becker, "with outdoor dining."

The opening is planned for February 2023.

Contrary to the prevailing trend, the savings bank is opening a new, 250 square meter manned branch next door – and not just a self-service branch with machines.

The interior work is already taking place here, and the opening is imminent.

Since April, a huge hall with 7,000 square meters of ground floor space and a 1,500 square meter gallery has been created in the shadow of the alpha complex.

Two of the three tenants have already been determined: The P. u. P. fire protection and plant construction is getting too tight in Neufinsing, reports Becker.

And the packaging of Carl Bernhard Hoffmann Bayern GmbH is also relocating from Hallbergmoos to Erding for reasons of space.

Both want to start using it this year.

"The construction went so quickly because precast concrete parts were used," explains Kohler.

The hall can be used up to a height of 7.50 metres.

It has several truck docking stations.

Only between the row of shops and the hall is still a gravel landscape.

But not for long.

"Next year we will tackle the hotel project," announces Becker.

Unlike the existing one-star Ibis budget hotel on Dachauer Strasse, a three-star boarding house is planned here that will tower above all other buildings in Erding-West.

Kohler expects the project to be completed "probably in 2025".

A total of at least 100 new jobs will be created.

And then, at the explicit request of the city, the RH Group is building a 20 by 30 meter fenced-in ball field.

Kohler and Becker emphasize that a "special commercial area" has been designed here and that companies have not simply settled there.

“The customer will find almost everything here,” advertises Becker.

Even those who work here can take care of themselves.

With soon to be four restaurants, two hotels and a fitness studio with a spa area, the lights never went out in Erding-West, even at night.

After all, the investor is spending a mid-double-digit million amount for the last section, all buildings are rented - long-term.

Kohler and Becker emphasize “that we didn’t have to reschedule because of the pandemic”.

With the exception of the small travel agency, no one jumped off.

"That speaks for Erding as a business location," says Becker.

It is very attractive because of its proximity to the city, to the FTO and thus to the motorways as well as to Munich and the airport.

Kohler seconded: The fact that two companies are settling here because they found a place they didn't have before is also a quality feature for Erding.

The only thing that irks investors is that the city is reluctant to allow retail assortments.

Nevertheless, one is very satisfied with the mix.

Becker is convinced: "This will now be an even more popular district." ham
