As of Monday, December 5, the delivery of new cards will begin to hundreds of thousands of recipients of the Welfare Pension in Mexico City, according to the government announcement.

More than 852,000 people will receive a new card and collect their pensions through the Banco del Bienestar, according to information provided by the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel, and the head of the Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum.

These are those who until now received pensions through payment operations or through other banks.

The change will be made gradually between December 5 and April 15 of the following year.

As long as you do not have your new card, you will continue to receive the benefit with the current one, the authorities specified.

How to obtain the new Well-being Pension card?

To find out when and where you should pick up the new card, the first thing you should do is go to gob.mx/bienestar.

Once you are there, select the icon of the Pension for the Well-being of Older Adults and enter your CURP (Unique Population Registry Code).

Then you will see the place, day and time in which you must go to look for the new card.

The card is delivered personally to the recipient of the pension.

If you cannot attend, another person can attend in your place with the necessary documents to start the process.

In this case, a visit to your home is scheduled for a later date, in which the staff of the Secretary of Well-being will give you the new card.

At least eight days before the date on which you are responsible for raising the new document, you will also receive a visit to remind you of the change.

The Government reported that it is necessary for you to keep the old card in your possession, since it is a personal account, and that deposits on the new card will be made in the two-month period following its receipt through the Banco de Bienestar.

The bank has a total of 89 branches distributed in Mexico City, and the authorities clarified that commissions will not be charged for making balance inquiries or cash withdrawals.

You can find out which is the nearest bank on the page of the Secretary of Welfare.
