2022-12-01T05:22:17.919Z

Available in France from this Thursday, the American platform intends to make a name for itself in the SVOD landscape.

After Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, Salto, OCS on demand, Apple TV + and Canal + Series, to name a few, Paramount +, ex-CBS All Access, enters the dance this Thursday.

Or rather in the frantic race for subscribers that SVOD platforms have been engaged in for ten years.

If the question of the overall cost, per household, of these broad-spectrum entertainers arises more and more often.

That of the diversity of their content also arises.

Plethora of series

With a plethora of series including some enticing lead products and the promise of large-scale European and French co-productions.

Also with documentaries, stream shows and cinema.

"A unique content offer, with the biggest stars and the most fascinating global and local stories", enthused its vice-president recently.

Offered at no additional cost to subscribers to the Canal+ offer or at the rate of 7.99 euros per month, Paramount+ will offer content from all of the Paramount group's catalogues, including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Showtime, The CW, CBS and the prestigious science and culture channel Smithsonian Channel.

In March this year, the service also announced a long-term partnership with Gaumont, a French production company known for its impressive catalog of films but also for its recent serial successes such as

Lupin

or

Narcos

.

According to the brand's CEO, this agreement "will make it possible to diversify Paramount+'s offer in order to reach all audiences and enrich the content offer around the world".

Nearly fifty series projects are in development, including two French thrillers:

Le Signal

, based on Maxime Chattam's horrific bestseller, and

Impact

, an ecological fable inspired by Olivier Norek's equally successful novel (

Les Invisibles

,

Everyone lies

).

famous authors

Adaptations are in fashion.

The authors are famous.

In front of or behind the camera, the stars are there.

From the launch of Paramount+, subscribers will find the trio Gillian Anderson-Viola Davis-Michele Pfeiffer in

The First Lady

, a great historical account inspired by the lives of the first ladies of the United States, Éléonore Roosevelt, Michelle Obama and Betty Ford (available from today).

But Also

Tulsa King

, a black and quirky mafia series embodied by an astonishing Sylvester Stallone (launch in early 2023).

The family saga carried by Kevin Costner,

Yellowstone

(also available on Salto).

A contemporary adaptation of the cult 1980s film,

American Gigolo

.

The Offer

, a long-awaited miniseries about the behind-the-scenes filming of the monument of the seventh art

The Godfather

, with Juno Temple and Matthew Goode.

1883

, the equally anticipated prequel to

Yellowstone.

Or

Halo

, an interstellar nanar adapted from the video game of the same name (already broadcast on Canal+).

We can also see or review

Dexter

,

Damages

,

CSI

or all the series of the

Star Trek

franchise .

Should you subscribe to Paramount+?

Question of taste and wallet… Especially since HBO Max is also announced in 2024, which will notably offer the entire catalog of cult series from the famous brand, from

Six Feet Under

to

Succession

passing, of course, by

Game of Thrones

.
