After the cancellation last year, the successor to the legendary "Schliersee Advent" is returning to its traditional place of work.

Schliersee – The return of a long tradition to its old place of work has been delayed by a year, but it is imminent: The "Schliersee Advent" is coming back to the rural theater of the market town;

Over a decade in exile in Munich

For eleven years, Wiedemann & Co. were in exile in Munich – and with great success, as sold-out houses, such as the old town hall, show.

As a reminder: At its peak, the "Schliersee Advent" had four performances, up to 15 buses came with guests, some of whom even stayed overnight in Schliersee.

That can't be a standard for the return, especially since the "Advent in the mountains" can also be experienced twice in Munich, in addition to the Old Town Hall also in the Löwenbräukeller.

The organizer is the Festring Munich.

Unlike last year, this year there is probably no threat of cancellation at short notice, which would make all preparations and rehearsals obsolete.

Pastoral play with topical allusions, but entertaining

After all, Wiedemann was able to fall back on last year's shepherd's play, although he "modernized it a bit".

Topics such as vaccinations or citizen income have found their way – not as a political statement, but with tongue-in-cheek humour.

After all, Wiedeman wants to entertain the guests.

However, the organizer had to drum up the groups again.

He found what he was looking for in the Reichersdorfer singers, the Grünbauer wind group, the Neukirchner singers, the Hornsteiner Zithermusi as well as Hausl Brandhofer and Roman Mayrock (song accompaniment).

How long Wiedemann will continue to sit on the Advent stages, he does not know himself.

"I'll be 83 soon."

The return of the "Schlierseer Advent" under a different name - the original members Karl B. Kögl and Konrad Esterl are not there - is not yet sold out.
