After the action of the climate activists at BER in Berlin, Nuremberg has been warned.

However, one is certain that there is no lack of safety precautions.

Nuremberg - The climate activists of the group "Last Generation" have burned their way into people's heads and media reports with their numerous actions in recent weeks and months.

In addition to blocking roads and motorways, or throwing soup at works of art, the environmentalists also targeted BER Airport in Berlin last week.

Now there is great concern about similar actions in Bavaria.

Nuremberg Airport: Climate activists do not rule out actions

The climate activists of the “last generation” reached the BER site in Berlin through a simple chain link fence that they had severed.

There, in the spirit of their previous actions, they taped themselves to the runway or rode bicycles down the runways.

Nothing worked at the capital airport for hours.

Passengers and politicians then expressed their displeasure in large numbers.

But can something like this also happen at Albrecht Dürer Airport in Nuremberg?

A similarly rigorous environmental protection organization as the "Last Generation" is the "Extinction Rebellion".

Representatives of this have already stuck to the Frankenschnellweg or protested against food waste in Nuremberg.

The news portal

Nordbayern.de

asked the group.

Answer: You don't want to rule out actions at the airport.

But none are planned at the moment.

Because many private jets take off and land at Nuremberg Airport, it is a red rag for climate activists.

"They represent a much greater individual burden and are the means of transport for those who bear the main blame and contribute most to the climate crisis with their individual behavior," a spokesman told the portal.

Nuremberg Airport refers to its security concept

When asked by Merkur.de

, Nuremberg Airport was

left calm when it came to climate activists.

Reference is made to the numerous authorities that are supposed to ensure security at the airport.

"On the one hand our own security service, on the other hand the security facilities of the government of Middle Franconia and of course the police with their own inspection at the airport.

Customs and the fire brigade, for example, are also BOS (authorities and organizations with security tasks).”

Climate activists protested at BER against private jets, among other things.

The airport statement goes on to say: “The entire site of Nuremberg Airport is a security area that is protected around the clock.

Among other things, the site is secured with a fence.

Camera systems and sensors are also installed.

For tactical reasons, the other security facilities and processes are not mentioned.” Only that a fence did not stop the activists in Berlin either.

The airport association ADV also expressed its outrage at the action in Berlin.

A statement reads: “The ADV has absolutely no understanding for the protest actions of the 'last generation' at BER airport.

It is unacceptable for air traffic safety to be jeopardized.

Serious interventions in air traffic are rightly prosecuted.”
