About 200 buildings were lit purple this evening (Thursday), to raise awareness of the rights of people with disabilities

As every year, "Purple Night" is held close to the International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated in many countries around the world.

The theme of this year's project is "providing equal opportunity to people with disabilities in employment, community and society".

On social networks and a variety of other platforms, content promoting the issue was uploaded, emphasizing extensive cooperation between all the relevant factors for the advancement of the vision.

State President Yitzhak Herzog talked about the importance of the project, and said that "the integration of people with disabilities in all areas of life is necessary so that every person can realize his potential. Accessibility should not only be physical. It must first of all be about awareness, a change of attitudes, a change of opinions precedents. A society that looks to the horizon and does not stop at the limit - is a more successful society."

The Chairman of the Lottery Factory, Avigdor Itzhaki said about the involvement in the project: "The Lottery Factory inscribed on its banner the issue of integration, support and promotion of people with disabilities in Israel and placed it as one of the five core areas of the organization in the social arena.

After in the last two years we managed to reach millions of people with this important social message and burned it into the public consciousness, we implemented, together with our partners in the local and regional government, dozens of projects, some of which are already operating and some of which will be launched this year, all of which aim to provide equal opportunity to people with disabilities in the Israeli labor market , and integrate them more deeply into society and the community.

Our message on this day is sharp and clear: we are with you all the way and will continue to invest many resources and efforts to improve the quality of your life and for full equality of opportunity in all areas of life."

Haim Bibbs, Chairman of the Local Government Center and Mayor of Modi'in Maccabim Reot added: "I am happy that we are continuing with this important initiative.

Today we understand more than ever how much value there is in integrating people with disabilities in the employment market and in general in the fabric of life.

Each person is unique and seeks to contribute in his own way, and we in the local authorities strive to accompany our residents to integration in all areas.

This is what will create a strong, cohesive and diverse society."

Idan Mottula, editor of the "Svivim" website, welcomed the move. "There is much to improve on the whole issue of the attitude of society and state bodies to people with disabilities - accessibility, employment, housing and more," he explained. "Lila "Purple" is intended to bring to public awareness exactly these issues. What can each of us do in our area to help with a deeper integration of children and adults with disabilities in Israeli society, in the community and at work."
