Landsberg – If you want to do something good for others, you can do it very easily in Landsberg this year: the city has put up a Christmas tree in the courtyard of the historic town hall - not an ordinary one, but a wishing tree: residents of Landsberg who are not doing so well financially can do so there express wishes.
And if you like, you can become a wish-fulfiller.
Especially in the current situation, it is important to make children, young people, families and senior citizens from financially weak households happy at Christmas, says Mayor Doris Baumgartl.
For example "a subsidy for a visit to the hairdresser, toys, a voucher for a Landsberg shop" or even Christmas cookies.
The wishes are written on hearts, which Landsbergers can pick up at the Citizens' Service in the city administration (Katharinenstraße) (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.).
Only the wish lands on the heart, the age of the person wishing and who wants the first name - or even just the gender, says city press spokeswoman Susanne Flügel.
The wish that residents from Landsberg and the districts are allowed to express should be fulfilled with a maximum of 30 euros.

If you would like to become a godfather, you can take a heart – or several hearts – from the tree, get the wishes and pack them up and hand them in at the tourist information along with the wished heart.
Because those wishing fill out a small form when picking up the heart from the citizen service, so that every wish can also be found in a targeted manner by the right wisher.
The promotion runs until Sunday, December 18th.
The gifts can then be picked up by the person wishing them on Wednesday, December 21 and Thursday, December 22, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Friday, December 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the quiet corridor of the historic town hall.
"The gifts are not sent," emphasizes Flügel.
Uncollected gifts will be kept until January 13th and then passed on to a charitable institution in Landsberg.
