The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus organized this evening a reception at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the founding of the UAE.

In a speech during the ceremony, the Chargé d'Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Damascus, Counselor Abdul Hakim Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, stressed the importance and strength of the fraternal relations that bind Syria and the Emirates and their peoples, and expressed his confidence that the Syrian people, who built dozens of civilizations throughout history, will emerge from their ordeal stronger and more powerful, and will establish A new, developed civilization befitting Syria, the cradle of civilisations.

Al-Nuaimi referred to the strategic principles adopted by the UAE during the next fifty years in the economic, political, developmental and internal fields, most notably the commitment to resolving disputes between countries through dialogue and peaceful means, contributing to supporting international stability and peace and human coexistence, promoting a culture of tolerance and openness and adopting economic strategies stimulating economic diversification. , away from oil, building an economy based on knowledge and scientific and technological progress, and strengthening international cooperation.

Minister of Culture, Dr. Labana Mashouh, in a speech during the ceremony, drew attention to the fraternal relations based on mutual respect and appreciation between the two countries, which are rooted in history, noting the Syrian participation in Expo Dubai 2020, in which the Syrian pavilion had a distinctive imprint, through which it deserved to be the focus of admiration and appreciation for all arrivals and visitors.

Minister Mashouh pointed to the importance of cultural cooperation between Syria and the UAE, and the exchange of experiences it carries in various fields, the most prominent of which was cultural, musical, plastic, theatrical and cinematic training, pointing at the same time to the important experience of the UAE in supporting various projects, especially youth ones.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, affirmed that the Syrian-Emirati relations have been distinguished throughout history, expressing her hope that these relations will constitute a force for joint Arab action that is in the interest of the Arab nation.

The ceremony included the screening of a film summarizing the development of the UAE since its establishment, as well as lyrical paintings from the Emirati and Syrian folklore presented by the Syrian Arab Music Orchestra Choir, led by Maestro Adnan Fathallah.

The ceremony was attended by Ministers of Defense General Ali Abbas, Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam, Education Dr. Darem Tabbaa, Water Resources Dr. Tammam Raad, Media Dr. Boutros Hallaq, members of the Baath Party Regional Command Mahdi Dakhlallah and Huda al-Homsi, a number of ministerial assistants, the governor of Damascus, some members of the People's Assembly, heads and representatives of missions.
