There were 9,996 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong yesterday (2nd), reaching the level of 100 million on the second day.
The immediate effective reproductive rate of local cases of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong is 1.125, showing a rising trend.
Summary of yesterday's epidemic:
-An increase of 9,996 confirmed cases, the number of cases fell below 10,000.
- There were 637 imported cases, accounting for 6.37% of the overall case rate; compared with 13,689 airport arrivals on the same day, the rate was 4.65%, and the seven-day average rate was 3.92%.
- 11 new patients died, the 7-day average mortality rate dropped slightly to 0.18%, the overall mortality rate dropped to 0.50%, and the cumulative death toll was 10,773.
-The number of cases of new variant virus strains in the local area also increased. The local cases of XBB increased by 7 to a total of 104, and the number of BQ.1.1 cases increased by 4 to 117.
The latest effective reproduction rate of local cases at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong is 1.125, which means that one patient can infect more than one person, and there are signs of a low recovery.
