The Swiss team beat the Serbian team tonight (Friday) 2:3 and secured their place in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup, where they will meet Portugal.

A draw was enough for the Swiss to finish as Brazil's runners-up, but they celebrated three points at the end of a charged and eventful match.

Just like in the 2018 World Cup, this time too Serbia was left behind Brazil and Switzerland and ended its path after the group stage.

Xherdan Shaqiri (20), Berel Ambolo (44) and Remo Frouiller (48) scored great team goals for Switzerland, Aleksandar Mitrovic (26) and Dusan Vlahovic (35) made a turnaround that did not last, certainly not in a tournament where the shaky defense of Serbia concedes 8 goals.

The first half was conducted at a fast pace, with high percentages of accuracy, beautiful attacks and little resistance from the defenses.

After Switzerland made it 2:3 at the start of the second half, coach Murat Yakin already knew how to make changes that would stifle the game, lock down his extension area and close a story.

His plan worked and the Swiss once again left dust for the Serbs.
