Today, the Janub al-Malaab neighborhood in the city of Hama witnessed a volunteer work day with the aim of improving the service and civil status of the neighborhood, which is the largest in the city and includes various activities.
The activities of the volunteer day, which were carried out by the mechanisms of the Hama City Council, in cooperation with the mechanisms of the Directorate of Technical Services and the civil society, included sweeping and cleaning the streets of the neighborhood, rinsing them, replacing old garbage containers with new ones, and removing rain drains that suffer from congestion.
In addition, some of the streets excavated with asphalt aggregate were maintained, and the edges of the health roundabout and the central island were painted and planted with olive trees, starting from the health roundabout to the housing roundabout.
The Governor of Hama, Dr. Mahmoud Zanbou’a, praised the efforts made, and the need to generalize this initiative to the rest of the city’s neighborhoods, especially the popular ones, to improve its service and social status. During his meeting with a number of the neighborhood’s residents, he stressed the role of the local community with the concerned authorities to maintain the cleanliness of the neighborhoods, and provide them with the necessary services within the capabilities. .
The governor also instructed the Hama City Council to remove all illegal occupations, provide the neighborhood with additional cleaners to cover the entire area, rehabilitate and organize the popular market, and meet the residents’ demands regarding the service issues they suffer from.
The head and members of the Executive Office of the Hama City Council and members of the People's Assembly participated in the volunteer work.
