The logical consequence: After many ATMs in the Munich area were blown up, the Sparkasse closes self-service branches.

Munich – After a series of explosive attacks on ATMs in the area of ​​the Kreissparkasse München-Starnberg-Ebersberg, the bank is taking action: its self-service branches with ATMs in Gilching, Inning and Percha (Starnberg district) will be shut down with immediate effect.

Customers are asked to obtain cash at other Kreissparkasse locations.

A night security service is deployed for other locations in the district of Munich and the districts of Starnberg and Ebersberg.

Should that be the case in Munich, the next security steps should be checked.

However, that is still "future music", according to a spokesman.

The series of attacks was also a topic at the conference of interior ministers in Munich.

Lower Saxony's Interior Minister Boris Pistorius spoke of more than 500 ATMs being blown up in Germany in 2022: "That's a lonely record." In the Netherlands it was possible to reduce the number significantly because the banks and savings banks there "that the money is rendered unusable in the case of blasting".

It is either colored or glued.

"Nobody steals money that you can no longer use." Unfortunately, Germany is not ready yet.

Instead, vending machines would be closed at night.

This is not a comprehensive solution because the supply of cash is at risk.
