A guest of the Ibis budget hotel in the commercial area not only rioted in his room in Erding-West on Saturday morning, but also set the mattress of the hotel bed on fire.
Erding – Around 10 a.m., a large-scale operation started in the industrial area.
A considerable contingent of fire brigades and rescue services arrived.
On site were the BRK, the Malteser and the Johanniter.
The ADAC rescue helicopter Christoph 1 from Munich also landed on the site.
Because initially it was unclear how many people were in danger, at the time of the fire 77 rooms were occupied.
The Erding and Altenerding fire brigades quickly discovered the fire and were able to render it harmless.
The turntable ladder was also positioned.
Ultimately, however, only the resident suffered smoke inhalation.
Two police officers who were the first to gain access to the room were also examined by the emergency doctor as a precaution.
The hotel can remain open, only the affected room needs to be renovated.
Police are investigating the man for intentional arson.
The background is unclear.
