The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, confirmed during his meeting today in Tehran with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Alexander Fomin that the development of bilateral, regional and international cooperation between Tehran and Moscow achieves peace, stability and security in the entire region.
Bagheri praised the joint experience of cooperation between Tehran and Moscow in combating terrorism in Syria, stressing the necessity of continuing this cooperation and providing support to Syria.
Bagheri pointed out that dealing with common threats requires more consultations and the development of cooperation between the two countries to create a new world order far from the approach of American unilateralism.
For his part, the Russian Deputy Defense Minister stressed the active role of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in achieving security and stability and eliminating terrorism in the region.
Fomin arrived in Tehran today, accompanied by a military delegation, to participate in the fourth meeting of the joint committee for military cooperation between the two countries.
