In support of the national campaign to investigate cancer, the Businesswomen Committee of the Homs Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian Society for Cancer Control, implemented an awareness workshop entitled Smile of Life.

The workshop, which was held at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters in the presence of a number of businesswomen and social and administrative actors in the governorate, included lectures and dialogues on ways to make the cancer screening campaign a success, which was launched in the governorate two weeks ago and will continue for 45 days.

The head of the Businesswomen's Committee in the Homs Chamber of Commerce, Afaf Al-Hassan, pointed out the importance of holding awareness workshops on the importance of early detection of cancer, in parallel with the implementation of the national campaign in the governorate, to avoid the effects of this disease on the individual, society and health institutions, noting the role of the Businesswomen's Committee to promote health awareness and support awareness-raising activities and campaigns. .

During his lecture on cervical cancer, the head of the Syrian Cancer Society branch in Homs, Dr. Zahi al-Shawaf, pointed out the need for early detection of cancer in women, while the head of the fourth health zone in the Health Directorate, Dr. Muhammad al-Abbas, presented a presentation on the procedures of the national campaign to investigate breast, cervix and prostate cancer in Hospitals, health centers, private clinics, and the role of the campaign in alleviating the material and moral burdens on people and the government in terms of treatment and reassurance of health.

The Secretary of the Syrian Cancer Society branch, Dr. Sahar Al-Najari, spoke during her lecture about the contribution of early detection of breast cancer to recovery by 90 percent, which reduces surgical work and the overall treatment period, stressing the importance of the national campaign to investigate all types of cancer that is carried out for the first time.
