Today, the Aleppo governorate began installing electronic tracking devices for vehicles (GPS) on five seravis lines that serve the eastern and western neighborhoods of Hamdaniya, the northern and southern ring road, and al-Izaa, at the headquarters of the internal transportation company in the city center.

And a member of the executive office concerned with the Aleppo Governorate Council, Dr. Maher Khayatah, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the installation of the devices targeted the microbuses operating on the most dense lines and witnessing crowded passengers, as the Sarafis Al-Hamdaniya line was started and will be activated upon completion of the installation operations, as the number of those registered to install the devices has reached So far, 1,700 requests out of 4,000 services have been received.

In turn, the Director of Traffic Engineering in the Aleppo City Council, Eng. Saed Badawi, said: The installation of GPS tracking devices on mass transportation is a translation of the decision of the Passenger Transportation Committee for all operating lines and transport vehicles, including buses and lorries, as today, five lines were launched out of 37 lines, provided that the installation process is completed successively, pointing out that the Traffic Engineering has worked on preparing the electronic database of all paths necessary for the work of these devices and calibrating them according to the kilometric distance of the beginning and end of each line.

For his part, Director of Aleppo Fuels, Engineer Abd al-Ilah Nadman, explained that the installation of the devices contributes to providing fuel and controlling the movement of suspended buses, in addition to improving the mass transport service in the governorate, similar to the rest of the governorates that have adopted this technology. It is expected that the installation work will be completed within a period of two months, calling on drivers To review the fuel company and pay the value of the device and install it on their vehicles.
