China confirmed that the United States is making its ally Europe pay the price of the crises, and that even today Europe is still removing the traces of the chaos America left behind in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Xinhua quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian as saying yesterday at a press conference, commenting on French President Emmanuel Macron's criticism that Washington's laws on chips, science and deinflation will lead to "fragmentation of the West" while creating differences between the United States and Europe: "The two legislations Americans designed to serve American interests show no regard for other countries, not even what the United States calls its allies and partners.
Zhao said: The United States describes Europe as an important ally, but in reality, America is making Europe pay the price of crises, noting that while the United States is taking advantage of the Ukrainian crisis, Europe is suffering greatly from high inflation and high energy prices.
He continued, "Europe is still clearing up the traces of the chaos that the United States left behind in Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq."
