On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which falls today, the branch of the Syrian Society for the Physically Handicapped in As-Suwayda honored a number of students with disabilities from various educational levels during a diverse event.
The event, which was hosted by the association's headquarters and was attended by civil events and supporters of the association's work, included the presentation of lyrical and poetic paragraphs for talents of people with disabilities, and the distribution of books, gifts, and sums of money to the honorees.
The Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in Syria, Nour Al-Sibt, indicated that the association is keen to empower people with disabilities in terms of knowledge and learning, in a way that supports their integration into society, and serves their future and the future of the country.
The head of the Administrative Committee of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in As-Suwayda, Nizar Shuja, pointed out the importance of shedding light on this segment that has proven its presence in society and introducing its rights and duties, stressing that the association will continue to provide various forms of support to it.
The honorees affirmed their readiness to continue their education, move towards the future, work for their country and serve its children.
The Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped was established in Suwayda in 1997, and works to provide a variety of free services to people with disabilities.
