At the moment there are 341 people accommodated in hotels, including those displaced immediately after the landslide; about ninety have notified that they have found independent accommodation, and many others - compared to the more than a thousand potentially interested - have moved on their own to families and friends. The search for the last missing person continues (ANSA)

It hasn't rained for several hours on the island of Ischia and the first night away from home for the displaced persons seems to have passed 'peacefully', despite the fear and hardships.

Reassuring news, for now, also on the landslide front: no further reports in the red zone.

"Yesterday's evacuation in Casamicciola was characterized by intense, frenetic activity in the central hours of the day. The evacuation measure was brought forward following the weather alert issued at 12, making it necessary to complete a difficult and difficult job in a few hours , in the end, well done. The operation was successful overall. Were there difficulties, mistakes, weren't everyone reached by communication? It was inevitable, due to the time constraints. Thanks to the citizens, there were no episodes that would complicate the operation".

Thus Commissioner Giovanni Legnini in Casamicciola.

Fifty-four families residing in the 'red zone' of Casamicciola have not moved away from their homes

: Commissioner Giovanni Legnini made it known.

The police forces are carrying out "conviction and persuasion" towards them, with the notification of the evacuation order issued yesterday.

At the moment there are 341 people accommodated in hotels, including those displaced immediately after the landslide;

about ninety have notified that they have found independent accommodation, and many others - compared to the more than a thousand potentially interested - have moved on their own to families and friends.

Around 10 a.m. a landslide occurred along the road that leads to Maronti beach, in the municipality of Barano d'Ischia

.

The landslide consists of several cubic meters of soil and boulders and as a precaution the authorities have suspended transit along the road and checks are underway on the static nature of the entire ridge on which there are no houses.

In the next few hours it will be known if and when the road can be reopened and therefore allow the inhabitants of the Maronti area to be able to move freely to and from their homes.

The weather alert with yellow criticality in force from Friday at 4 pm for Ischia and other areas of the Neapolitan coast is extended until 4 pm on Sunday.

This was announced by the director of civil protection in Campania, Italo Giulivo.

The search for the last missing person from the landslide

that hit the municipality of Ischia last Saturday continues in Casamicciola.

This is Mariateresa Arcamone, 31 years old.

At the same time, the firefighters work to free the area from the residues of the landslide that hit the center of Casamicciola.

At the moment the state road 270 is passable in one alternating way only for emergency vehicles.

''It is a question - it was explained during the press point at the end of the CCs - of a strategic road for the resumption of activities and the normal living conditions that are necessary on the island''.

The head of the regional civil protection, Italo Giulivo, explained that ''the use of their competence centers with innovative technologies has been agreed with the national civil protection department to have monitoring that indicates a possible shift that the rains can cause on landslide fronts and manage the risk''.
