Günzenhausen usually organizes its Christmas market every two years.

Because of Corona, four had passed - and the rush accordingly.

Günzenhausen

- GOD chairman Peter Reiss welcomed the visitors at 2 p.m.

The Günzenhausen kindergarten children opened the market with several Advent carols, framed by proud parents.

The children's choir from the music school in Eching continued the happy mood immediately afterwards.

Afterwards there was a puppet show in the GOD rooms.

There was hardly enough space on the chairs and on the floor for the interactive game in the large event room.

In any case, the Kasperl received many important tips for his Christmas tasks from the knowledgeable children's audience.

First came Santa Claus, then the nativity play

Another hour later, Santa Claus, coming from the brightly lit Christmas tree, entered the inn.

An extra seat was set up for the distribution of gifts.

In the meantime it had also gotten dark and the nativity play, designed by children from Deutenhausen, Ottenburg and Günzenhausen, could be performed in the evening mood.

Many "actors" disguised as animals gave presents to the child in the manger.

The brass band music also contributed to this unique atmosphere

Illuminated by countless lights, the Günzenhausen inn, surrounded by the inn and the illuminated church, developed its very special charm.

A unique atmosphere, to which the brass band Günzenhausen also contributed.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

At 16 sales stands, handicrafts, works of art from an artist's workshop, valuable Advent arrangements and wreaths, spirits, lovingly knitted and sewn items and much more from local production were offered.

There were also one or two gifts at the GOD stand: in addition to home-baked cookies, there was the Ottenburg chronicle compiled by Ernst Keller, the cookbook “G'wusst wia” and the GOD calendar.

Had regional gift ideas on offer: Cordula Linnbrunner (left) and Stefanie Malenke at the GOD stand.

Snacks, mulled wine, chestnuts, potato chips and Christmas sweets, which provided the typical Christmas market scent, provided for the physical well-being.

You could relax and enjoy yourself in the Schützenheim, provided with coffee and delicious cake.

Conclusion: Everyone is already looking forward to 2024.
