Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, stressed the need for the international community to provide international protection to the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation's continued crimes against them, stressing that expressing anger and condemnation is not enough, but must be accompanied by firm action in accordance with humanitarian law and human rights law.

WAFA Agency stated that Mansour made it clear in letters addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly that at a time when the international community gathered to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and pledged to put an end to this historical injustice, Israel, the occupying power, By emphasizing its persecution of the Palestinian people, and continuing its gross violations of international law.

Mansour emphasized the necessity of adhering to the legal, political and moral responsibilities towards the Palestinian people through accountability measures to promote their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and return, and to reduce the occupation’s policy of impunity.

Mansour pointed to the crimes of field executions carried out by the occupation forces against a number of young men, which led to their martyrdom, the latest of which was yesterday’s crime of executing the young man, Ammar Hamdi Mufleh, in cold blood, from zero distance, in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, stressing that the continuous terrorism of the occupation requires the provision of international protection for the Palestinians.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted the day before yesterday four resolutions confirming the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
