The Greens at Tegernsee recently took up the fight against fireworks.

They regard the fact that the district is now seeking a "permission reservation" for fireworks in the landscape protection areas as a success.

Tegernseer Tal

- For some they are a highlight, for others a pure environmental sin: Opinions differ when it comes to fireworks.

This was also shown at the time by the debates in the local councils around Tegernsee, when the Greens presented their motions.

Ultimately, however, the committees all supported the concern of anchoring a ban on fireworks in the landscape protection area ordinance for Tegernsee and the surrounding area, which is to be revised.

If the district council agrees, fireworks must first be requested

The ball was in the court of the district office.

And he was recorded, as spokeswoman Sophie Stadler now

tells the

Tegernseer Zeitung on request.

The draft for the temporary safeguarding of the landscape protection area ordinances in the district of Miesbach actually contains a "permission reservation for fireworks".

According to Stadler, the district council will vote on the regulations at its meeting on December 14th - they affect the six landscape protection areas (LSG) in the district.

"If the district council agrees, in future all fireworks within the scope of the landscape protection areas must first be applied for and approved," the spokeswoman makes clear.

Conversely, this means that lighting off fireworks without express permission is then prohibited.

The aim of the district: only approve firecrackers “very cautiously”.

According to Stadler, the declared goal is to only approve the fireworks "very, very cautiously so as not to endanger the protective purpose".

Especially in the Tegernsee valley, where private celebrations are often crowned with a light spectacle, the new rule could entail restrictions.

Restrictions on fireworks only apply in protected landscape areas

At the same time, the spokeswoman makes it clear: The reservation of permission applies exclusively to the scope of the LSG and not beyond.

For example, fireworks will also be allowed in the classic indoor area in the future under the known rules.

Keyword New Year's Eve: If you live indoors and want to set off your private, small fireworks there at the turn of the year, you can do so.

However, the explosives law states that this may only happen on December 31st and January 1st.

Fireworks can be prohibited by nature conservation law

Large fireworks by professional companies, which are fired on various occasions throughout the year, are exempt from this time limit.

In the words of Stadler, they are “the real problem” for nature and immission control.

In the future, the district office can now intervene here via nature conservation law: "Fireworks can be prohibited if, for example, species protection issues are affected."

Green spokesman is satisfied with what has been achieved

Practice will have to show how often a large private fireworks display is first registered with the district authority and then banned by it.

In any case, Thomas Tomaschek, chairman of the Tegernseer Tal Greens local association, is satisfied with what has been achieved: "You cannot ban fireworks in general - so that was the maximum that we could get out at district level," says Tomaschek.

He is pleased that a reservation of permission is to be included in the new regulation.

"That's a success."

Overall, the re-enactment of the LSG ordinances - it is necessary because the old ordinances will probably soon lose their validity - harbor risks and opportunities alike, Tomaschek believes.

The fact that the topic of fireworks will now find its way into the work is a positive example.
