Something is happening around the new retirement home in Feldkirchen.

But the new plans have also received a lot of criticism.

Feldkirchen – After more than an hour of discussion about the retirement home on Münchner Strasse, Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV) was in despair: “The investors and builders finally want a clear signal from us.

But we take a step backwards every time.” Ultimately, however, the municipal council approved the plans.

After months of protests from residents, the investors led by Michael Schamberger had replaced the architect.

The new one, Michael Winkelmann, presented his plans in a special session at the beginning of November: there should only be 90 instead of the planned 130 care rooms, each over 22 square meters instead of 19.4 square meters.

On the property at Münchner Strasse 22, 38 instead of 30 barrier-free apartments of 45 to 90 square meters are to be built for assisted living, and there will be no day care.

On the opposite side of the street, at Münchner Straße 35, investor Schamberger is planning another building with 53 apartments, 28 for employees and 25 barrier-free for assisted living.

There is a need for nursing homes

The need is there in Feldkirchen, as shown by the current care requirement figures, explained the building authority manager Dagmar Leiter: There are 150 people in need of care in the village, this number will rise to at least 230 by 2040. Two thirds of these people would be cared for at home by relatives, a third would be there in care facilities in the area because there are none in Feldkirchen.

"So we expect at least 75 people in need of care in the home in Feldkirchen by 2040, as well as at least 15 people who would come into day care." Planning for the senior center with 90 care places is therefore justified and in no way set too high, emphasized Leiter.

Because the reduction in the number of rooms at Münchner Strasse 22 would result in a deficit for the operator, the second building with apartments for employees,

but also necessary with supervised apartments.

"The municipal council must give a clear signal that it wants this planning so that we can get into the land use planning," said Leiter.

Daniel Golibrzuch (UWV) would agree with the plan "that we're finally making progress.

We also have to build a few more places for the neighboring communities, because there are currently many people from Feldkirch living there.” Stefan Seiffert (CSU) was also able to understand the wishes of the investor and could well imagine the magnitude.

"But for this we need a resolution from the municipal council, especially about the new planning at Münchner Straße 35." Fraction colleague Herbert Vanvolsem was clearer: "Through the back door and without a resolution, we should now wave through the house on the opposite side of the street." Silvia Pahl -Leclerque (Greens) rejected the plans.

“We cannot initiate a land use plan procedure because there is no legal basis.

We cannot yield everything to the investor,

Mayor Janson made it clear that the investor had made it clear that the retirement home at Münchner Strasse 22 would not exist without the construction at Münchner Strasse 35.

"We finally have to decide that now - otherwise that's it today and there is no nursing home in Feldkirchen." The municipal council decided on the plan with six dissenting votes from the CSU and the Greens.
