Brazilian soccer legend Pelé remains in stable condition after being admitted to a Sao Paulo hospital on Tuesday for a "re-evaluation of chemotherapy treatment for colon cancer identified in September 2021," said the hospital in a statement released Saturday.
"He is continuing treatment and his state of health remains stable," the Albert Einstein Israeli Hospital said in the statement.
Pelé has a respiratory infection and will continue to be hospitalized for the next few days
The former player has shown a good response to treatment for the respiratory infection, with no worsening of his condition in the last 24 hours, the statement added.
