Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu affirmed that Belarus is a reliable partner for Russia, and the relationship between them has proved particularly important in facing the pressures of the West directed against the union of the two countries.
Novosti news agency quoted Shoigu as saying during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Viktor Khrenin, in Minsk today.. that “Belarus was and will remain a reliable partner for Moscow,” pointing to “the importance of relations between them in the face of unprecedented pressure from the West and its undeclared war on the two countries.”
Shoigu praised Belarus's determination to stand up to the hostile course of the United States and its allies and joint willingness to ensure the security of the Federation of Russia and Belarus.
