On December 1st, Germany will play Costa Rica in the World Cup.

A win is crucial for the Germans in the group stage.

So it's all the more strange that the players' wives are about to leave Qatar again.

Qatar – On November 20, the world's largest football tournament opened in Qatar.

It is probably the most discussed World Cup in history.

Still, many fans travel there to support their team.

The wives of the German internationals also traveled to the country.

But just before the all-important game, some of them leave again.

Don't they believe in their 2014 World Cup heroes?

Or do you think the game against Costa Rica is a surefire win?

Two women are returning home and cannot support their players.

Because in their Instagram story, Izabel Goulart, Kevin Trapp's wife, and Sara Gündogan show their departure from Qatar.

Izabel Goulart would therefore start her "longest direct flight" to get to the USA.

There she attends a “special event”.

Sara Gündogan is back in Dubai, as a snapshot on her Instagram profile reveals.

It remains unclear whether the two will travel back to Qatar.

Should the German national team not be able to bring in a win against Costa Rica on December 1st, it probably won't be worth traveling back to the World Cup hosts either.

The World Cup in Qatar: scandalous even before the final whistle

The soccer World Cup has been running in Qatar since November 20th.

Usually weeks of excitement and anticipation, this time scandal and controversy cast a shadow over the event.

Above all, the questionable conditions that prevailed during the construction of the new stadiums and led to many deaths were sharply criticized in advance by organizations such as Amnesty International.

Human rights violations such as the unequal treatment of women and the ban on homosexuality in Qatar also give the competition a bitter aftertaste and lead to calls for boycotts worldwide.

Too little alcohol, parties and fags: German players' wives pilloried after the World Cup

The fact is that Germany is currently last in the group.

Japan and Costa Rica both have three points each, putting them behind Spain.

A win is a must for the German team to get into the round of 16.

If Germany loses today, they will return home without a win and Hansi Flick will have to accept his first major defeat as coach of the national team.
