The Israel Police today (Saturday) arrested a 50-year-old resident of Lod on suspicion of kidnapping two boys who are staying illegally, and imprisoned them in a shelter in the city.

Two 14-year-old boys reported to the police hotline that they had been kidnapped and held for three days in a shelter in Lod without food or water. Only today were the boys able to call the hotline for help, from the cell phone of the suspect in the kidnapping, when he came to check on their condition.

In the meantime, the police officers of the station, together with district intelligence units, managed to reveal the location of the abduction and imprisonment of the abductees, and after breaking the lock with the professional assistance of KBA soldiers, the policemen rescued the two minors, who were taken to the police station for help and continued information gathering.

At the end of searches in the building where the shelter is located, the police were able to locate and arrest the suspect - a 50-year-old resident of the city, and at this time he was being interrogated at the Lod station to examine the background and circumstances, including an investigation of suspicion of their employment in violation of the law.

The police intend to bring him later to a hearing in the High Court with a request to extend his detention, in accordance with the needs of the investigation.
