According to a press release from the Holzkirchen police station, the accident happened around 9 p.m.

Two 8-year-old girls were out and about on Westerhamer Straße in Weyarn.

A 41-year-old man from Hausham was also driving on the road towards Esterndorf in his Audi.

The girls wanted to cross the street at number twelve, it is said.

They pushed their way between two parked cars and suddenly stepped onto the street.

The man from Hausham tried to initiate emergency braking, but it was too late.

Both students were treated by paramedics.

The little one with the broken leg then went to the hospital.

Accident in Weyarn: driver was drunk

When the police subsequently recorded the accident, they noticed the smell of alcohol in the 41-year-old.

A voluntary breath alcohol test was therefore carried out on him.

This “resulted in a value beyond the 1.1 per mille limit, which is why the further journey was prevented, the driver’s license was secured and a blood sample was taken,” the message continues.

Den Haushamer is now facing criminal proceedings for drunk driving.

In order to clarify the accident and how it happened, the Munich II public prosecutor commissioned an accident analysis report.
