Al-Hamidiyah Police Department in Hama arrested two people who deal in other than the Syrian pound, and transfer money illegally.
The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement, a copy of which SANA received, that while a patrol from the Hamidiyah Police Station was carrying out the tasks assigned to it, it suspected two people in the Al-Fayhaa neighborhood of the city of Hama, so it stopped and searched them. On a sum of money of one hundred and eighty thousand Syrian pounds.
The ministry indicated that, by interrogating them, the first admitted that he had illegally transferred money and dealt in a currency other than the Syrian pound, in partnership with several people who were hiding from sight with the intention of material benefit, and that the dollar amount that was seized in his possession was received from the second arrested person with the intention of delivering it to another person.
The ministry indicated that the aforementioned sums of money were confiscated and a motorcycle was seized in the possession of the two arrested, and investigations are still ongoing to arrest all those involved in the case to take the necessary measures against them and bring them to the competent court.
