In Mammendorf, extensive pipe network flushing has to be carried out from Tuesday, December 6th.
As Mayor Josef Heckl reports, this should remove deposits in the drinking water pipes.
Mammendorf –
According to a message from the town hall, the flushing measure serves to improve drinking water quality.
The campaign, which lasts up to and including Thursday, December 8th, can adversely affect the water supply of customers: lack of pressure and turbidity (coloring) due to the loosened deposits.
The deposits are generally completely harmless in terms of health and hygiene.
They usually consist of iron, manganese or corrosion residues.

FFB newsletter.)
During flushing, additives approved for drinking water, such as gas or air mixtures, are used for a short time in order to better loosen the deposits.
These are harmless, but can lead to faults in the in-house installation.
In the first 50 to 100 meters after the point of addition, smaller gas bubbles can get into the house connection, after which the mixture is usually as dissolved as, for example, in medium mineral water and is therefore not noticed any further.
Before starting the flush, consumers should fill up water for their needs, for example for cooking.
During flushing, if possible, little or no water should be taken from the pipe.
Linen should not be washed, aquariums should not be filled up.
Even after the work has been completed, the water may become cloudy for a short period of time, but this is harmless to health.
Inquiries are possible with water warden Franz Gebhard on telephone (01 60) 97 00 28 51 or by e-mail to wasserwart@ gemeinde-mammendorf.de.
Dishwashing takes place on the three days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Tuesday it is the turn of the areas from Jesenwanger Straße 10 to Bundesstraße 2, from the B 2 in the town center to Peretshofen and surrounding streets as well as the whole of Peretshofen;
on Wednesday B 2 Mitte to Bahnhofstraße, Bahnhof-, Michael-Aumüller-, Grotten-, Thomas-Führer-Straße and surrounding streets;
on Thursday Thomas-Führer- and Bahnhofstrasse, Nannhofen and surrounding streets.
